Exemptions are a type of financial assistance that allows some Texas Residents to attend a public college or university in Texas without paying tuition or, in some cases, tuition and fees. |
Waivers are a type of financial assistance that allows certain nonresidents of Texas to pay the in-state tuition rate. |
Certain waivers/exemptions require recipients to maintain a certain GPA and complete their program of study within a certain amount of hours. Recipients of these awards are evaluated each semester to ensure compliance with GPA and excessive hour rules. Waivers/exemptions must be on a current form. For more information, contact studentbusiness@lamar.edu.
Deadline for submitting Waivers and Exemptions is the census date of each semester.
